Wakakirri is a national story-dance festival where students tell a story using a combination of dance, creative movement and acting to pre-recorded music.
In 2019 our item was based on the picture book ‘The Monster’s Inside’ which tells the story of a young child who is learning to manage emotions. The performers were outstanding and displayed plenty of energy and enthusiasm on stage. We received two awards on the evening, ‘Most Outstanding Hair and Makeup’ and ‘Most Outstanding Use of Minimal Props’. We have since received one of the major awards, ‘Best Health and Well-Being Story Award’.
Our student representatives Harrison, Max and Sienna spoke confidently on stage to answer questions about our story-dance for the judging panel.
We are so incredibly proud of Kiama Public School and their stellar performance.
