Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival 2014
What a great weekend it was to be out and about in Kiama with so many fantastic musicians performing throughout the community as part of the 2014 Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival. Once again our KPS band was invited to perform and showcase the fantastic musical talent that we possess. In front of an appreciative crowd of parents, fellow students and many passers-by, we performed an entertaining set, which was very well received. It is a real privilege to perform on the line-up and provides our students with their first opportunity of the year to play in front of a live audience. After all, there are many, many hours of rehearsal and practice time throughout the year and ultimately we do it all to perform for the community. As always, we well and truly rose to the occasion.
Thanks to all parents who assisted with getting students to the event, and to four former KPS band members - Ewan Stevens, Aimee Deen, Samantha Luke and Hannah Jackman for performing with us on the day. Thanks also to Mr Carney for helping to transport equipment, and as always Miss Friedmann and Miss Harrold for their ongoing support in running the band.
