Our school has a wonderful garden and this year we are excited to announce that our mango and banana trees produced fruit! We were very excited when our new garden teacher, Mr Pescud, successfully harvested 4 mangos and an enormous bunch of bananas from our garden.
Mr Hall planted the banana trees when he was at the school and the mango tree was planted by a bunch of Year 6 students about 4 years ago. Over those years the mango and banana trees have grown into big healthy trees that are strong enough to grow and produce delicious fruit.
When asked to comment about this, Mr Pescud said, “I am very happy with the first of many harvests here at Kiama Public School”.
And we hope this is the first of many harvests this year!
