Chess Club Victory!

On Monday, 2nd of May, the Kiama Public School Chess Team participated in the Interschool Chess Challenge hosted by Edmund Rice College. The tournament lasted the whole day from 9:30am to 2:30pm and had a total of 7 games per person. There was a wide variety of schools attending this competition, ranging from Gerringong to Wollongong. We had a lot of fun, tackling stronger opponents every time, with each game getting harder and harder by the move. There were many challenging opponents and it was a great learning experience! 

After lots of games and hard work the victory was ours - our school winning the competition! We won 42 games, with Josh coming 1st, Penny coming 2nd and Kaylan coming 5th overall. Congratulations to all the people who attended our chess team’s competition and thank you Miss Mannix for all of your hard work. - Josh (6E) and Penny (6P).
